First Race, First Podium In my Rookie year in Single Seaters.

Hey Guys,

I have started to write blogs as a way to communicate what I have been up to on a weekly basis. For those of you who don’t know, I am competing in the MSV Formula 3 Championship www.f3cup.co.uk for my second time this year. This is my 3rd year in Britain as I build myself up for the Professional Junior categories. I have already participated in the 1st Round of the year starting at Snetterton, placing 3rd in Race 1 and 4th in Race 2. Unfortunately I was ruled out of Race 1 due to an infringement with my air box, a crack in the manifold meant it was illegal and I was placed at the rear of the field for Race 2. I can always take a positive away from a bad situation and starting from the back always helps my race craft and ability to think on my toes.

Coming into this championship with an older car is always challenging, but I believe it gives me a greater sense of achievement if I compete with the top 3 positions in the field at every race. Now it is coming up to my 3rd Round of the Season at Rockingham and knowing the track and its advantages I am confident in my ability. Training for this is really down to the right determination and that is to prove myself every time I am on track! So in preparation utilizing my track time I make sure my fitness, weight, nutrition and mentality is optimal for every Qualifying, Race and Test.

Three years ago when I moved over from Australia, I really did make the conscious decision that I was going into this 100% committed into making this my life and getting into that mentality is not hard for me. I always thrive under competition and nothing makes my more determined than winning. Like any great sportsman I have to believe I am the best, I have to believe that I am here for a reason and that my I will never give up, even when I go “off track”… I have to pick myself up again and keep moving forward and turning my failures in strengths is becoming something of an art.

This week has been great, I’m feeling positive about the next upcoming race, my physical and mental conditioning is on track and as I near my dreams and goals, I am satisfied with knowing that I am giving 100% daily!
